Requires 1 or 3 machines. Can we use 2?

According to below URL you need to host the bus in 1 or 3 servers (3 if you need to High Availability feature of AppFabric). But why can't you have two servers if you dont need the HA?

We have two servers that are load balanced by a Cisco ACE (i.e. no Windows cluster). We want to use the service bus on both servers. I.e. code on server1 shall use the bus on servers1 and code on server2 shall use the bus on server2. Is it possible for us to have it like this and share the same databases? Or do we need to have sepparate containerdatabases for the two servers?
